It was born in Genoa on June, 1990 as
derivation of the European WIK.
Massimo RAVERA (President), Aurelio VERDE
(National Secretary ), Giorgio BENZI (Treasurer), Sandro ANGIOLINI
(Concillor), Maurizio CARASSITI (Concillor), Claudio MANGINI
(Concillor), Danilo COSSU (Concillor) are the founders of it. W.I.K.F. ITALY
has the whole consent of Italian Wado-Ryu karatekas that want Suzuki
Sensei as Teacher. With the excellent job of RAVERA, VERDE and BENZI, W.I.K.F. ITALY
joined in few time all the “Senior Instructors” coming from Venento, Trentino,
Lazio, Abruzzi, Marche, Liguria, Piemonte and Lombardia to train
with Suzuki Sensei. In that period 10 stages led by Suzuki Sensei was
organized by W.I.K.F. ITALY every year. In 1992, the 3° European Championship was
done in Italy. However the best target reaches by W.I.K.F. ITALY has
been the good results obtained from everybody the members, (either Dan
graduate or Kyu graduated), in everything the regions interested by W.I.K.F. ITALY,
united with the friendship created among the members. I want to mark
this point because these are the focal points in which Hironori Ohtsuka
Sensei and Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei created the Wado Ryu and the WIKF.
It is correct to admit that in these year the number of karatekas member
of W.I.K.F. ITALY is decreased due to the crisis of Martial Arts.
Another factor is that the aim of WIKF is have karatekas with an high
profile so a natural selection of the member with few interess and
spirit of sacrifice is arisen. Then WIKF ITALY is an auto financed
federation and has a scanty organization so only the most skilled
karatekas continue their path.
This karatekas form the WIKF ITALY of Suzuki Sensei, following his
spirit and philosophy. Since 2005, WIKF Italy has been remodeled in one
federation with technical a management competencies in Veneto and
